As the masthead for the month of May shows, we were away on a holiday to 上海, China to visit 大姑. 上海 is really this big city much like Singapore in many sense. Among the landmark some may know of is their famous Oriental Pearl Tower (东方明珠塔). It is the third tallest tower in the world. It’s a pity we couldn’t snap a decent picture of it as their sky was stale grey throughout our stay (not too sure if it’s due to the pollutant spill out by the cars and steel industry or was it the fog). It only cleared slightly on our last day. If you still do not how how the Pearl tower looks like, like the’ve always said, “google is yr best frens” (hohoho)
大姑 house is actually in Puxi(浦西), bounded by the 黄浦 river. On the other end lies Pudong(浦东) and linked by the Nanpu Bridge(南浦大桥). 大姑 house is just somewhere near the bridge and can be seen from her bedroom. Pudong is the “modern” shanghai while Puxi are supposedly less developed.
Let’s start the picture tour…. with a box!

“Take that!! KaPooohh”

Pudong International Airport

It was already late when we reach 大姑 house. So we grab a bite from an empty restaurant just at the ground level of her apartment. It opens till 4am and this was 1am.

This is 年糕.

Before tucking into bed.. chloee gives us this look.. Hmmm.. dunno…

Morning have arrived.. Looking out of the windows. Can you see Huangpu Bridge in the far distant? BTW, the water feature is empty.. What you will find there…. dog shit.. Alot of them keep dogs. Huge dogs!
